Focus areas and working methods

Psychotherapy is indicated for a variety of symptoms and emotional conditions. The following are the focal areas of my therapeutic work at my practice:

  • Adolescent crises, problems in school, test anxiety, learning problems
  • Mobbing, demotivation in school
  • Addiction problems, aggression
  • Stressful life events
  • Life crises, burnout
  • Loss and grieving
  • Internal tension and feelings of emptiness, depression, despondency
  • Self-esteem issues
  • Anxiety, compulsions, eating disorders
  • Trauma
  • Relationship problems, separation or divorce
  • Psychosomatic symptoms

In therapy we work together towards becoming aware of internal psychological conflicts, with the goal of recognising, understanding and processing these conflicts in order to enable change.

The objective of therapy is the alleviation of emotional suffering or at least reduction of detrimental symptoms.

Costs

There are three options for financing your therapy:

Basic insurance (delegated psychotherapy)

Depending on your symptoms, it may be possible to bill your basic health insurance for the treatment (less franchise and deductible). Delegation takes place through Dr. Holger Himmighoffen, M.D.

Supplementary insurance

Depending on the health insurance company, a part of the costs for psychotherapy will be reimbursed through supplementary insurance. Link to Overview.

Self-payers

If someone is unable or unwilling to bill their health insurer, the sessions can also be paid for privately. The hourly rate will be adjusted based on your life circumstances.

Professional ethics

The core of my working method is comprised of respect, care, dedication and empathy, with a focus on appreciation and trust in people and their capabilities.

Respect

I very much hold the dignity and value of all people in high regard in my work. I protect their basic rights and respect their right to autonomy and self-determination. All sessions are subject to the obligation of professional secrecy, thereby guaranteeing confidentiality and privacy.

Care

As a psychotherapist, I am aware of my professional responsibility and avoid inflicting damage; I am responsible for my actions. Religious evangelising and sexual relationships are strictly prohibited.

Dedication

I am committed to continuing education so as to always maintain the highest possible standard of knowledge in my field. I only employ processes, methods and techniques in which I am qualified based on my education, training or continuing education, or thanks to my experience.

Empathy

In my function as a psychotherapist, I always strive for an ethical personal attitude. I conduct myself in a respectful, fair, credible and empathetic manner.
